Yesterday will be a hard day's work to beat :)

Kayaking all day in blazing sun, with seals and curlew.
Then got given a freshly caught lobster as I was finishing up on the slipway.

Lucky enough to be able to stroll into the kitchen of Eccles Hotel & Spa where the awesome head chef Eddie Attwell sorted me out with hot bread, just made pesto, and lemon+seaweed butter.
Best dinner ever!

Struggled Getting Up For Sunrise, But So Worth It

Struggled getting up this morning, and nearly nodded off in the kayak at one point, but what a superb dawn trip we got 🙂

Cuckoo, artic tern, jumping sprat - among other wildlife we experienced.

India To Dublin To Glengarriff; For Bioluminescence Kayaking

From time to time we get really impressed, and humbled, by the effort and energy people make to get to us for a training course or kayaking trip.

Huge thanks to this lovely couple from India; who travelled by public transport from Dublin to Glengarriff - to do a bioluminescence night trip this weekend

Bioluminescence Night Kayaking Back On The Menu, For The Summer, In Glengarriff Bay

Ran our first night bioluminescence kayak trip of the year last night.

Always a bit apprehensive with the first few night trips, each year; as to how strong the bioluminescence will be.

Anyway it was great, I think the best I've ever seen it in May 🙂
 

The amazing weather will have helped to warm the bay, maybe a little ahead of schedule.
 

We also heard otters calling, a cuckoo at midnight (very strange 😅) and paddled under moon and stars...
 

Bioluminescence kayaking is back on the menu now all summer 😍

Bushcraft Skills 1 Course - Glengarriff - Weekend Of 10th & 11th May

Two places are available for Bushcraft Skills 1, next weekend in Glengarriff, 10th & 11th May.
Conditions will probably be sunny, dry and stunning 🙂
 

Course is beginner friendly, with not a huge amount of gear needed.
 

Over the weekend you will cover building and sleeping in a bushcraft/debris shelter, fire making from spark, fire managment, fire cooking, water usage, knife skills, cord making skills, some foraging for food, making bushcraft bread, and more...
 

And actually in these dry conditions, very importantly, how to keep a camp fire small, controlled, and not cause a forest fire.
