Your
proper mountaineering or kayaking first aid kit is often really well
packed inside ziploc bags, plastic bags and a dry bag. I know personally
you can sometimes be reluctant to pull out your first aid kit for
something minor like a blister or cut - however not treating it isn't
great.
So carry a second tiny first aid bag which has a sprain bandage, few safety pins and few plasters - carried in the top pocket of your backpack.
If something minor happens you can have it whipped out within a few seconds, deal with the small injury and carry on without delay, or without having to delve into your well waterproofed big first aid kit!
