Winter Route In MacGillycuddy Reeks
With ice axe and crampons, up O Shea's Gully; roped up across Beenkeragh Ridge, which was gently technical with powder snow, cutting wind, and plenty of rocky steps to negotiate. Then onto the summit of Beenkeragh @ 1010m. Long descent finally along the side of Hag's Tooth Ridge and back out Hag's Glen.

Improve Your Climbing Course
We have an Improve Your Climbing Course in the Gap of Dunloe this weekend, with some places available on it.
This is for someone with some climbing experience already and will cover more efficient and safer climbing practices, different methods of belaying, more advanced climbing techniques, knots and rope-work, abseiling with a prussik plus climb set-ups.
The price is €150 per person and all equipment is provided.

Over a half day complete team challenges, either physically or mentally challenging, depending on your program. Work in small teams to develop strategies or complete a map challenge. Work in larger teams to cross a lava field using the equipment supplied, or similar projects. All in the open air and spectacular setting of Killarney National Park.

Ireland's most majestic mountains and spectacular valleys are located in Kerry and West Cork, where the wild Atlantic meets our rocky coastline. Explore the ice carved Torc Valley and Friars Glen, strewn with rivers and streams, steeped in history, with a local guide. Climb the rugged bracken covered Kerry hillside, to savor crisp views over the MacGillycuddy Reeks, Dingle Bay and Killarney, before descending gently down the side of Torc Waterfall.

We have two/three places left on a Mountain Skills 1 Training Course on 22nd & 23rd Nov, running in Wicklow.
This intensive, but relaxed, course runs in the Wicklow Mountains near Laragh/Glendalough. It is completely beginner friendly - you just need hiking boots, back pack and a map.
The price is €155 per person and the aim at the end of the weekend is that you have a solid understanding of map reading, navigation techniques, basic compass work, contour feature recognition, mountain hazards and essential mountain equipment.

Reeks & Ridges Scrambling Course
Reeks & Ridges is a two/three day scrambling course based in the Gap of Dunloe and MacGillycuddy Reeks.
Over the two days you will cover scrambling skills, rope work, anchors, belaying, communication and emergency abseiling.
The second day will involve climbing a proper mountain ridge using and developing these skills.
There is also an option of a third day which will involve a climb of the spectacular Howling Ridge.
No previous scrambling experience needed, however hill walking experience is required.
Price For Two Days: €200 Per Person
Price For Three Days: €300 Per Person
